Despite snow, no prepared Lodge room and Barry Cuttle in attendance we had a fabulous day and installed our new Worshipful Master, Martin Hawes.

It is indicative of the closeness within our Lodge that when many of us arrived and found our designated Lodge room in quite a state, we rolled our sleeves up and set to work. It had been set out for a side order the night before and hadn’t been returned to a regular Lodge room as is normally done.
With those of us there, no-one had to give any instructions, no-one complained and we all swung into action. Sourcing what we needed from other rooms, moving furniture and getting set up. In 40 minutes we had gone from nothing to everything and all was set for the installation of Martin. Not one crossed word, just brethren working towards the common good.
A glass of wine later and we were able to welcome WBro. Colin Firth PAGSwdB, the representative of the RW Provincial Grand Master of East Lancashire.
The meeting started and continued with excellent humour and installing Martin into the Chair was a very happy experience. I have no doubt he will be an excellent Worshipful Master and hope that he enjoys his year.
Can I also extend a huge thanks to those visiting Brethren who helped out throughout both the ceremony and the day.
